52nd Steveston Kendo Tournament at Vancouver, Canada (February 8, 2014)

BUTOKUDEN Kendo Members:

As I mentioned during my Christmas presentation, the Steveston Tournament will be on Feb 23, in Steveston, BC, Canada. This is one of the biggest tournament in North America, with participants from Canada, USA, and Hawaii. It is only a 2 hours flight, and the food is great. If you want to stay a few extra days, one of the best skiing in the world, is not too far away. The entry fee is by donation. If you are interested, please sign up using the form below. Qualifications:

The SCKO already announced qualifications by first letter (2014 Team SCKO Guidelines) but if you didn’t have it, visit www.scko.org and download available.

 

Kenshis may only compete in One (1) division for the AUSKF Championships. however, you may enter a kenshi in as many divisions as desired for the SCKO qualification process, as long as the participate meets the eligibility requirements, and pays the appropriate entry fee of $25 per division entered. Entry fee are non-refundable.

The divisions of 2014 AUSKF Championship are not settle by AUSKF yet but we will start registration based on last time AUSKF Championship.

Jr. Youth Boys: 12- 15 years

 Note: Be familiar with “basic conduct/movement/flag positioning/judgment calls,” as we will assume that 3-dan and above are knowledgeable of these items. This will expedite the morning session.

 Training exercises with multiple courts with immediate feedback from instructors
 Questions and answer as time permits
 Godo-keiko with all participants as time permits

  •  Regulations of the matches will follow “The Regulation of Kendo Shiai and Shinpan” set forth by the Federation of International Kendo (FIK).
  •  Tsuki Waza and Jodan are authorized for over 16 years old only, except Adult Women’s / Men’s Kyu.
  • Each person can only participate in one division and is responsible for bringing one’s own Me-Jirushi (Red/White indicator)
